recovery!!
The Endangered Species Act protected the bald eagle in 1967 when scientists counted fewer than 450 nesting pairs of eagles in the U.S. They are damaged by farming pesticides and hunting. A farming pesticide often ran into streams and impacted on fish eaten by eagles. The pesticides interfered with the eagle's ability to develop strong shells for its eggs. So bald eagles and many other bird species began laying eggs with shells so thin. They often broke during incubation or failed to hatch. The government acted to ban DDT like farming pesticide, established law of protecting eagles, and improved environmental problems close to the citizen. Happily, the number of bald eagles is increase!!
